Me

Long pretty dresses,

professionally done nails,

bright makeup;

that's not Me.

Cheerleaders in short skirts,

ballerinas in pink slippers,

singers in fancy costumes;

that's not Me.

Comfortable gym shorts,

hair in a sweaty ponytail,

basketball and track;

that is Me.

You can make me wear dresses,

sing songs,

let my hair down,

turn me into what everyone expects a girl to be.

But you would be hiding Me.
