Ode to self

Salvatore, is what I am called.

Average height,

Averag weight,

Dark features,

And white skin

Physical features not outside the norm

But

It is not these characteristics

That defines me

but rather that I am

Kind,

Funny,

Patient,

Intelligent,

and Always looking to help others

That sets me aside

From the pack

Mother would say

She is proud of the man I have become

Father would rather

Look for ways I can improve

Both support

With whatever I need

And for that I could not

Be more grateful

As long as

I look for help

Stand up for,

And do what is right

I will always find pride in myself

I write this to tell you

About myself

To also say,

Physical features will not define you,

Rather what you do in this world will.
