Me.
You said…
You said you loved
me.
You said…
You said you’d be there for
me.
You looked in my dark eyes
And fed me with your lies
And I...
I believed in
you.
I trusted you.
I gave you my all.
Everything I had.
I gave to
you.
Why…
Why am I so gullible?
Why don’t I ever learn that
You.
you are nothing more than an empty promise
Nothing more than…
A web of lies
Spun to fill the gaping whole you feel inside so you
Take it out.
Take everything out on me and you
Scream and hit me until I
bleed.
And these…
Tears. They drip from my face and you
You, you stare at me
Unaware of the pain you’ve caused me because
You.
you are nothing more than a nightmare that keeps me awake
Nothing more than…
Haunted faces that taunt me every day
Because, you have no face of your own
So you steal mine.
You take away what makes me, me.
And I, I do nothing.
nothing.
I can only do nothing.
Because, you.
You were my everything.
And now…
Now you’ve left me with
nothing.
I can’t eat.
I can’t sleep.
I can’t think.
Because all I dream about is
you.
And I hate myself for wanting you.
Because…
Because I know you don’t want me.
I know you don’t need
me.
A twisted memory is all I’ll ever be
So, you.
You with your fiery eyes and
mouthful of lies
and faded disguise
and sad goodbyes…
You win the prize.
You’ve won the prize
And it isn’t
me.
