This is Me

On the outside,

A seventeen-year-old girl.

A high school senior ranked in the top five.

The smart girl.

A friendly face, an encouraging smile.

A character confined to the realm of school.

But is that all there is?

Look deeper:

I am a seventeen-year-old girl who puts emphasis on school,

But that is not the only thing that defines me.

Godliness.

Family.

Nerdiness.

Love.

Happiness.

Fear.

Clumsiness.

Compassion.

Now we are getting closer.

I want to live each day with joy, making a difference for those around me.

I want to spread the love of God to the corners of the earth while taking comfort in my family and friends at home.

I want to sing and write and teach kids and learn new things and realize my passions and find out where this life will take me.

I am afraid of the future and its uncertainty.

I know I will fall a few times along the way, both physically and metaphorically,

But I know how to get back up.

I am the girl who will live each day to the fullest,

Nerding-out to the things that make me excited, spending time with my family and friends, singing my heart out at every opportunity, and loving Jesus all the way.
