Me
There is a hole in the roof in the room next to mine.
The roof covers all the rooms.
In the month of December it started to drip.
Then another hole appeared, this one poured.
I cupped my hand to catch the yellow water,
Then dropped it onto the rug on the floor.
The tar dropped from the roof to the floor,
The tar that covered the roof that had the holes.
When it dropped from the roof, it stuck to the ground.
No one could walk on that blistering, ebony ground.
No water would wash it off.
The tar was spread across the house.
Yellow water spread throughout the rooms.
Soon the roof will too fall to the ground,
Like the tar and the water
Flowing down the hallways.
My home will come down.
