Me
Sometimes all that I want--
And all that I need--
Is me.
Sometimes I don’t want you to tell me whom I am
(Or what I am)
Or how I seem.
And it’s not that I’m ashamed that you might be right.
And it’s not that I think you’re wrong.
It’s just that I haven’t figured life out yet.
So I’m sorry if I seem
Distant,
Offended,
Unhappy,
Unrealistic,
Too realistic,
Too Quiet,
Moody,
Or way too exhausted,
I’m just figuring life out.
And sometimes,
I just want to figure it all out all alone
Without your
Judgment,
Frustration,
Exasperation,
Concern,
Or plain ignorance.
Sometimes that’s why--
Just from time to time--
All I want--
And all I need--
Is me.
