"Me and My Broken Heart"
By:Ashley C.J. Tucker
Swish, I’m ballin’
A young Candace Parker
Bustin’ shots left and right
I’m a challenger
I never back down
Afraid to ask for something
So secure of myself
Selling things to make a fortune
Watching my dad be so strong
So open for him, that I would catch Grenades for him
Him holding my hand saying,
“I gon be alright”, “I gon be alright”
Giving my brother and I the littlest faith to hold on to
Me shredding every single tear invested in me
Yes, I’m a Cry-Baby
And Daddy’s Little Girl
In Love with my mama too
She works so hard
To supply My sister and I with our needs
She wouldn’t give you a dime if we wasn’t supplied
“I want to be INDEPENDENT”
“I want you kids to grow up and be something…”
Those were always her words
Now we’re not together
My soul and personality will forever be with her
And my others are here with my dad
On his bedside as he recovers
I hang Me and my Mothers memories on the wall
Everytime I look at them, I burst into tears
And I think of how it was
When we were together
