ME AND MY WALLS

Tue, 02/02/2016 - 15:20 -- Aerial

only my walls see my tears

and only my walls know my fears

i keep it all inside

except once...

when someone pried

i opened up and tried

but they hurt me so...

i nearly died

only my walls know my pain

and only my walls know my strain

i keep it buried

deep in my brain

and do my best to always refrain

from letting anyone know me

from letting anyone show me

what it is to love and be loved

only my walls know my doom

only my walls share my gloom

as i sit amongst these walls

in an otherwise...

empty room

only my walls know the agony

that i live each and every day

only my walls and the universe

hear me pray

i am alone

in every way

only my walls know my hurt

only my walls share my grief

me and my walls have this belief

my walls are all that offer me relief

only my walls keep me in

only my walls keep them all out

only my walls know about

the winding route...

and my total abscence of clout

only my walls are my friends

only my walls know my moods and trends

only my walls are there to defend

me from my enemy

my very self

stored amongst these walls

like a knick-knack

or bric-a-brac

on a shelf

to gather dust and age

smothering the rage

that has welled and swelled

from the inside out

and the outside in

yes...

me and these walls are true -

true friends

only my walls know me by name

only my walls know the lost dreams of fame

only my walls care about me

only my walls set me free

only my walls know my bliss

only my walls know that i have never kissed

and my walls know

they're my only date

only my walls know the truth

only my walls know the lies

it's me and these walls

until one of us dies
