Me and Poetry

Right foot, left foot

Walking down a dark path

Reaching for the light that bounces off the mirror

Right foot, left foot

I know you are right behind me

But I'm too numb to look at you

Right foot, left foot

I have to make a decision

Come clean with my anxiety or suffer in silence

Right foot, left foot

I finally sat on my chair

Grab the pen and the paper

Right hand, left hand

Let my anxiety fill the pages
