Me and Poetry
I had to find a way to let it out, My head just couldn't take it
All the thoughts going through my mind, I 'd swear that they were racing
Then one day i picked up a pencil, And then i saw some paper
I had to let it all out, i couldn't wait until later .
Cause i was so young and so shy, Didn't know who to talk too
Yeah i had three sisters, but i had no mother to talk too.
How was i suppose to feel, when the person i needed the most was never there
And it was a new women in the house every couple of years
Verbal and Physical abuse aint nothing nice, can you blame a 8 year old for crying herself to sleep at night
What are you suppose to tell a little girl who feels like she's alone
All i was hoping for was a happy home, i couldn't wait for the day that i could be on my own.
I just wanna be happy
But all i hear is that i have a smart mouth and that im always snappy
I never hear that from the words i write, it's kind of fancy
Cause i can write whatever i please and make it sound catchy
I guess you could say that writing makes me feel free, don't have to hold back, or filter my words, i can just be me
And there's no greater feeling, cause every word i write helps me get through the things that im dealing
With time i know my broken heart can be healed and i thank you for the pleasure of letting me tell my story
And my name is jamlah if you decide to refer me to a conservatory
