Me and We

Who is the true me?

There's infinite possibilities, can't you see?

Being me is not stagnant nor one dimensional

I am not mundane, monotonous or conventional

For I am me, an individual with many flaws

But being different, unordinary is for all people, a universal flaw

Many people love to classify themselves within a miniscule encasing

But what is wonderful about humanity is our ability to think outside of the box, a blessing

Though I have one name, I don't have only one belief

The beauty of all minds' are their fluidity, and I'll try to keep this brief

But there are tons and tons of things, when added together, that make me completely unique

How I hate when the chalkboard in my math class goes "SQUEAK!"

How I need to hear my television just to fall asleep

How I rarely spend my money, though I wouldn't classify myself as cheap

How I unabashedly listen to my favorite types of music, despite my unconventional taste

For what world would we be based

If being myself was something I could not embrace?

Though there are aspects we may not want to share with others

As long as we're ok with ourselves, then nothing else matters

We don't need to wear a sign to indicate we're proud of who we are

For each and every one of us is in some way a star
