Me and You

For the longest time I've cared for you It's different now, it's all I do Hoping for these dreams to come true Waiting for there to be a "me and you" "Me and you" For the longest time I thought you cared That maybe you were just scared Hiding behind a mask That set as a permanent cast But clearly I was wrong You came, and now you're gone Off doing better things I guess Boy, ain't this a mess? I thought you were different Convinced myself you were the best Although I see my fault Should have locked my emotions behind the doors of thoughts, The vault.. Do you realize what you've done? Taken all I had left, Allowed for one of us to move on And the other to feel wronged I was afraid of this from the start You set me up And tore me apart Piece by piece I can't take it Not anymore These wounds run deep Much deeper than you can see They can't be mended by only me I need your help Help me see that you and I weren't meant to be Until that point I can only weep I search and search For a reason to continue on.. But in the end, I realized I knew from the start What must be done. I hoped and prayed That it weren't true But what else was there left to do? I sat in silence One last time I wrote my will And said goodbye I nestled the barrel against the side of my head Still thinking of you I cried.. Harder and harder Soon it was unbearable Without hesitation The trigger was pulled And I was done. My suffering has ceased But at what cost? I thought it was for the best That only I would it affect Not thinking of others is my only regret But as for her I was shocked When she heard of what I had done She dropped to her knees Completely paralyzed and feeling week tear by tear fell down her face And only then did I realize that yet again, I was wrong She was my world The reason I have ever loved My last intent was for her to hurt But look what I have done As time went on she felt worse and worse eventually leading her to the same fate that I had endured For I thought she didn't care But she did all along It was all my fault Knowing now what could've come If only I spoke up when I was offered the chance It could have worked out We would've been great But no, I left when things ran thin And for the first time ever The thoughts of us no longer echoed within..
