Me Hidden Heart

When people ask

How I'm doing today

I smile and nod

And say I'm ok.

But what the don't know

And what they can't see

Is the pressure and pain

That's strangling me.

It tears upmy heart

The tension and fear.

But i muffle my sobs

And hold back the tears.

I try to be strong,

I try to be brave

But really inside

I'm starting to cave.

I'm honestly stupid

Keeping it all to myself.

For hiding the pain

And not asking for help.

It isn't my pride

It isn't my shame.

I don't want to be

The one to be blamed

For plaguing the world

With my petty woes.

I keep telling myself

This is just how life goes.

No one will listen,

No one will care.

Ask someone for help?

I just couldn't dare.
