Me I Am
“You’re so full of yourself”
“You dress weird”
“You like weird stuff”
“You talk funny”
I’m sorry?
Do I not fit your mold?
Am I a product of this society?
What am I to you?
Wait erase and forget that question Ask me instead if I care
Ask me if what you think of me is important to me
Ask me who I think I am
Why don’t you see what I see?
Because you don’t want to see
You don’t want to see who I am
You don’t know what I am
I am a teenage girl
Who sometimes falls prey to society’s traps
But snaps back to the reality
The reality of me
I am not your puppet
Nor am I your toy
You can point and laugh as I wear what I want
As I say what I want
As I listen to what I want
You go ahead and laugh Because why?
You laugh because you’re not as secure about yourself
You try to fit in with the crowd
You try to hide your real self
But guess what I don’t
I am me and I love me
I love my “dorky” ways
I love the way I snort when I laugh
I love to wear what I want
I love to watch what I want
I was raised by my thoughts
I was inspired by hate
The world thought it could mold me
It only gave me the tools I needed
The tools I needed to look away
To look away at the path that was right
That was right for me
Now I am....Me
