The Me I want to Be

Early and late this past school year,

I could not say why life was good.

Until summer came, as it should,

And brought with it purpose and cheer!

A summer course for those like me,

Intent on the modern stories,

Reflecting our many worries,

And how best to make the world see.

Early and during this current school year,

I knew quite well why my time was so dear.

The course made me value my work and play,

And make each like the other, day by day.

That course showed me just what I wanted to be:

The best possible version of no one but me!
