This is Me; I'm not the Expected
I honestly have no idea what it means to be an adult, yet I am one
Every year, we have morals and expectatons shoved down our throats
We're expected to move out at eighteen, go straight to college
Basically, we're expected to have our shit together.
We're all expected to be the same, to follow our paths the same way
And are judged when things don't exactly go as they say
But the truth is, none of us are what they expected
And that's okay
We are who we are
I'm trying to discover who I am
But I do know that I'm not your toy, I'm not your paycheck
I'm not living for society
I'm living for me
And I'm not sorry I'm not what you expected.
