Me In a Poem
I am many things,
all distinctly unique.
My endlessly competing desires
wage war for attention and dominance.
My adventurer’s spirit,
with dreams of fierce beauty,
wants nothing more than to see it all.
and marvel at its splendor.
My childlike imagination,
with its unquenchable thirst for the fantastic,
wants nothing more than a fairytale
to get lost in.
My long memory,
with its grainy and blurred images,
wants nothing more than the future
from which new memories are born.
And my romantic heart,
with its yearning for love,
wants nothing more than the One
to carry it off into the sunset.
The battle never ends
The frenzy feverishly increases
But still I hope someday
The war within will fade away.
