Me On The Inside
I am an Independent Woman
I wonder what its like to live in Africa
I hear the sound of my heart breaking
I see people trying to be something there really not
I want peace through out the world
I am an Independent Woman
I pretend that everything is alright
I feel sad when people have to act not like themselves just to fit in
I touch my face to wipe the tears away
I worry about my mom not being able to pay the bills
I cry when I think about my sister being 16 hours away from me
I am an Independent Woman
I understand that the world is a difficult place to live in
I say that no ones perfect so you don’t have to be
I dream about having the perfect life
I try an be the best me that I can
I hope one day everything will be as it should be
I am an Independent Woman
