Me. (#NoFilter)
everybody looks at this brother differently,
as if it wasnt already hard enough being me,
came the cold streets of chicago,
grew up without my dad, not knowing it would mess me up,
but i was a soldier, was told to never give up on my dreams and whatever task was at hand,
and believe me i never did,
me with my "filter"
im happy and i work and go to school and play sports, nobody sees how i really am,
i look at me in the mirror, and i cry because i feel alone, im the underdog, and nobody sees that,
i have nightmares of my friends dying, why did i leave them? how could i be so greedy?
im leaving for a better life, while they were stuck, and are not living anymore,
i was always told that my time would come.
now and days im fine, but i swear at least once a day, i tell a lie,
act like i didnt cry the night before,
i was always told that i would never amount to anything, i just hope i can get into college, i will try my hardest, and if it doesnt happen, then at least i know i tried,
the rain wont fall too much longer though,
but for some wierd reason.....
i wouldnt have it any other way...
