For me or for them
For me or for them
not wanting to be the one who differs,
tormented because I don't want to be wrong,
but then at the end of the day a small voice always whispers,
"Is it for you or for them?"
That voice is wise but I don't listen,
the days drag on as a maintain my charade,
you like that? oh I guess I like it too,
that's not cool? ok I agree,
It goes on for months with the small voice at the end of every day asking,
"Is it for you or for them?"
does it matter,
do I care?
something's wrong
but at the end of the day I hear my own voice asking tentatively ,
"Is it for me or for them?"
light bursts into my life,
who cares about them?
I am me and that is ok,
and at the end of the day I ask myself,
"Was today for me or for them?"
and I am able to say that I have a frame on my shelf,
and it says,
"Be you for yourself,"
