This is me, this is why I write.

Poetry has saved me, It was my doorway out, my key, I write to be heard, I write to spread the word, To escape my problems at home, To show others they are not alone, My life has always been hard, As all teen I feel I'm not going far, I feel like I've hit a dead end, But that's what writing does, it changes thing , it amends, I grew up into divorce, Each parent took their own course, I was stuck in between, I could have made a scene, But instead I chose to write, While my parents continued to fight , Writing keep me sane, Instead of cutting my veins, And this is why I write, To help myself and others fight, To make smart choices and do what's right.
