Me, You, Us
Because I love you
We stay up until about 3 am just telling
each other stories
We lie in the same bed beside eachother
allowing our mouths to express our worries
Because I love you
I confide in you because you are always there
just like my diary,
Whenever I feel stuck,
you regenerate my happiness with just a little rewiring
Because I love you
I am not here because I need to be
There because I have to be
Instead, because I want to be
Because I love you
I remain by your side
Until death do us part, yet in this case,
we won’t die
Because I love you
You are perfect in my eyes
In need of no change
you are the one they all despise
Attachments are seen to be so unhealthy
but I have never felt any stronger
My days are always moving so fast
But with you, my nights have become longer
Because I love you
You don’t make me prove it to you everyday
You don’t tell me to “just go” if you’re angry that I won’t stay
Because I love you
You don’t shut me out
You hear me and you listen to understand what I’m about
Because I love you
You are not here because you need to be
There because you have to be
Insead, because you want to be
Because I love you
You don’t make me empty my pockets to keep a smile on your face
You are just as happy as at home with a “do it yourself” kind of date
Because I love you
You don’t disrespect my body
You realize that it is mine, not yours
Not anybody’s
Bonds like this are criticized and yet,
our hearts grow fonder
because in and out
we are here to understand each other
