The Meadow

As I lay here quiet and still,

The sights around my mind does fill.

My hands touch the light green grassy meadow,

Free from any other girl or fellow.

The soft pink trees

Could fill any stressful person with ease.

Beside it a babbling brook,

And all my sins it had took.

The birds sang their sweet song.

The clouds above didn't stay in the same place long.

The rays of the sun

Did fill me with a sense of fun.

And as I looked to the sky

My heart did fly,

To see my love come down,

And come to me in his white linen gown.

He took my hands and spoke to me,

“Come my love let us flee,

Flee to the clouds high above.

Oh come, oh come with me my love.”

And so he took me up high

Oh how my heart did fly.

And on that flowery hill

Lay my body ever so still.
