The meaning
When I start to speak, some people seem to be afraid
They don't understand the words coming from the page
It's deeper than the eyes can see
Like a lake that's filled with algae
My emotions are hardly ever shown
Without poetry they'd never be known
An art of such devine expression
The exposition of such neglection
As I write it starts to all fall out
Like a rainy day after a year long drought
I would not be where I am today
If poetry didn't save the day
