The Meaning

Uncertain is the meaning of life

even as the brightest scholars seek

to piece together a guide for dummy’s

from blurred shards of forged window panes.

Unknown is the meaning of me

even with sleepless nights considering

and hundreds of words mimicking equations

where x, y, and z question their ambiguous purpose.

Unsteady is the meaning of a poem

which on any given day can wildly fluctuate

in peaks and caverns of an inconclusive graph

drawn from circumstances flung as projectile variables.  

Yet the meaning of poetry as a whole

draws universal conclusions from confused charts,

sparks light bulbs to math equations pondered in the dark,

and fits puzzle piece tips together for an ultimate picture of clarity.
