The Meaning Behind It All

In the famous words of Maya Angelou,

“Does my sexiness upset you?

Does it come as a surprise?

That I dance like I’ve got diamonds

At the meeting of my thighs”

Growing up with insecurities

These words have made me realize my outstanding purities

I am beautiful

I bring a presence that is unmovable

I am valuable

My intelligence is admirable

From the coils in my curls

To the S shape of my curves

Glowing from the shine of my coco skin

Down to Nike shoes I’m in
