The Meaning of My Diction
I always wanted to be them
Those famous writers
Who the teachers would use as an example for a text
And they would ask why do you think the author wrote this
I always wanted to express
The feelings I were to shy to say
So I write and pour my soul
With every keystroke and letter scripted on the paper
I empty my heart bare
As the words flow and flow at my fingertips
You question my purpose of writing these poems?
Well I bleed out the answer to your inquisition
amongst the shell of my words
and deep into their souls
If you explore and try to find the real meaning you will find your answer
You question why write
And I boldly retort why not
I am not afraid to challenge anyone who dare asks
why partake in such a beautiful activity
I do it unconsciously to be truthful
I cant help the words pouring
Like you cant stop Niagara from falling
You dare ponder why I keep writing
The answer is congruent as to why you keep breathing
You may not like what I have to say
Nor do I care
I don’t write my poems for you'
They are just for me to share
Gaze deeply into my words
and you will only see me
Gaze deeply into me
and you will only see my words
My soul impure
yet loyal to my words
I write to express
I write to caress
all the unwanted evils banished from our eyes
and expose the injustice the death and the lies
I write to give hope
I write to love
I write to fly into worlds
I never dreamed of experiencing
Into words I never imagined me saying
Into realities I cant stand facing
Into dreams I will spend my hold life seizing
You don’t get it and its OK you never will
I write for me
For myself and myself only
That maybe selfish
but it is the despicable truth
I don't write for you
nor to inspire
I cant write for you
or what you desire
I write for me
I write to breathe
I write to attempt to control something
when everything else is out of reach
Do you now understand the meaning of my diction
I write because in writing I can find myself
And finding myself is what I need
In so
I
LIVE
I
BREATHE
I
WRITE!
