Meant To Be

College is my dream. And history is my theme. For years I’ve worked to get here. So why do I feel this fear? It’s not the fear of the unknown. It’s more my desire for what I’ve been shown. Pencils, papers and my books, These are the items that have me hooked. My dream has always been to teach. My future students I hope to reach. There’s only one problem I have to face. It’s the money I continue to chase. Without those dollars it’s home I go. And all my knowledge will cease to grow. So scholarships I must apply. For the pencils, papers and books I must buy. I have to bring the money in. All those scholarships I must win. It’s essays and poems that I must write, In order to keep all the money in sight. It’s all about my education, So I must keep my concentration. For Bachelor’s, and my Master’s I must learn. And then my Ph.D. I will earn. And once that’s done my future you will see. The teacher I was always meant to be.
