In the Meantime
I am working on
Writing the greatest poem ever
But in the meantime,
I’ll write this for you
Wonderful anomalies
Stupendous subjects I will shape
And as I do this
Keep your eyes glued
The whizzes and the whirls
The zigzags, fizzies, and curls
Atop dozens of flashing, spinning pearls
All these and more is sure to rock your world
But in the meantime,
Please stay tuned
The Range of emotions
It’s such a ride
Like spudding sprites sprinting
Through summer fields of sunshine
And though you giggle
Please don’t move
The mastery of language like
The building of a bottled bridge
Branching across the Belgian
Boldly bringing baked beans
To breached borders of beauty
Such precision
Like a flip feathered falcon flying
Flawlessly free over frosted
Full range forests
And if from sadness you suffer
With this poem I will soothe
Oh the clarity!
Like the cross hairs on a
Cross section cut of the Corina nebula
Coming through corrected camera lens
Captured from an earthly corner
So many wonders and so many hues
A genuine masterpiece I’ll bring to you
But in the meantime,
All that’s needed is you
Yes, all I could want is you
