The Mechanic Song

The first one I had Didn't do all that much Seemed he couldn't even start the engine You know he didn't have that special kind of touch With that little Pinto of his He didn't know how to drive that thing at all He kept on stalling out He wasn't all that good That car of his was way too small You ladies know what I'm talking about (Bridge) I had a friend who came through for me He said "Honey, I got the remedy For what's wrong with your engine, I can make it run Just call me your mechanic, you'll be happy after I'm all done" "And I don't have no Pinto baby" "It's a big long machine" "Big and long and fast enough to make your engine scream" (Chorus) Oh he's a good mechanic He knows how to work on things real good Oh he's a good mechanic Fixes it like he should He's got the best tool in town Every time I need it taken care of He never lets me down Yeah my man's a good good mechanic He always takes care of things Has that motor purring every time he comes around He stands 5 foot eight Let me tell you ladies His work is really great Come rain or shine He never comes too early That man always comes on time Well my friend knows how to work with his hands He's got good hardware and I call him up every chance I can Cause my friend_, he knows what to do with that tool day or night He's my mechanic From sundown to sunlight (Repeat Bridge) (Repeat Chorus) Oh this is the mechanic song I wrote it for a friend Who worked it good all night long Two days later I called him up to work on it again He said "Chica, I work good on head lights too It ain't just the engine honey that will make you feel brand new" I said "I know cause you've worked on them before" "You seem to know how to work on everything" "I bet you could work on so much more" "Cause that first one I had wasn't good at all" "He couldn't get the engine started and his tools were too small" "But babe you got the equipment to tune it up real fine That's why I keep calling you all the time" (Repeat Bridge) (Repeat Chorus) The mechanic song He's a damn good mechanic He can work all day or all night long Yeah he's my mechanic He's my mechanic Ain't talking bout no Pinto Ain't talking bout no run about car that doesn't start or hardly make it back I got a friend whose a mechanic He's got a great big Cadillac And it always runs great A big shiny nine He is so worth the wait (Repeat Bridge) (Repeat Chorus) The mechanic Works so good with his hands The mechanic He totally understands That in order for it to run right You gotta be great at what you do And believe me he does it well I never feel blue He's got that lubing down to a T He knows how to work on high beams And anything in between (Guitar Solo) (Repeat Bridge) (Repeat Chorus) (Coda).
