Mechanical Advantage

Shut your heart up, won’t you stop that heart of yours?
It beats and bleeds, pumping with a constant need
Silence your mind, won’t you numb that head of yours?
It’ll do you no good, when bad thoughts are all that you feed
Keep your creativity away from me, can’t you see I am ordinary?
Here, we live the standard, breathe routine, and brag conventionality
You’ll find us on the beaten path, afraid to stray from conformity
We keep our head from the clouds, our feet on steady ground
Here, there are no dreamers; no nonsense to be found
 Automatic, unaware
Break the mold we do not dare
Apathetic, unaware
Lives in motion while we stare
This is how we manage, we’ve got the mechanical advantage
