The Medal

The Medal

The Medal that dangles on the nail pressed into my wood desk

The Medal that that clangs at the bumping of the surface

The Medal that hangs attached to the end of a yellow white and brown streaked cloth

The Medal that encompasses daily strenuous work within its bronze colored casing

The Medal that shows the burning sensation of each stride

The Medal that holds countless collisions of feet against pavement, day after day

The Medal that gives the lasting soreness into daily life meaning

The Medal that makes it all worth it

The Medal that takes sunlight, bouncing it into aspiration in my eyes

The Medal that aids in enveloping sweat, soreness, burn and will into another medal

Pressed into my wood desk
