Medicine

Medicine

What job could satisfy me for years on end?
While also challenging me and helping me ascend?

A path I could happily devote my life towards
While benefitting me with intellectual rewards

Only one answer blatantly stands out to me
The path of medicine and a doctor it must be!

What better way to combat my vanity
Than devote my life to helping humanity

My decision will rule my fate for years
But the path of medicine banishes all my fears

Although it will take a good decade of my life
To finish my schooling and endure all the strife

I wish to be a doctor for all of time
And heal peoples’ wounds, starting with mine
