Meditation

As day silently transitions Tonight,

And the infinite vastness of space reveals

Itself through the starry night,

I lay my body down to rest

As my soul awakens.

Without movement, sight, or sound,

I sense more profoundly than I do throughout

The entire day.

Shutting out the physical world

In the darkness behind my eyelids,

I finally see more clearly than ever.

I have always recognized the human mind

Was capable of immeasurable feats,

Yet as I transition into adulthood

I have become increasingly cognizant of the

True essence of human intelligence.

Through the discipline of mindful meditation,

I realize I can reconstruct my reality

Through the influence of my own brain.

The only restrictions in life are set by

My own perceived limitations.

As a child, I was free, peaceful and unaffected by the world,

Yet acknowledging that I have learned to

gracefully overcome the troublesome difficulties of life

and appreciate the magnificence of human consciousness,

I recognize that I am no longer a child,

But instead a developing adult

Who values this fascinating planet

With eternal gratitude and incessant awe.
