The Medusa in me

Ruby red like the fire in me;

Dark do your eyes glare when you are crossed,

Snakes line your head like the lies line my brain,

The paint you as a villain;

Dark like the world we live in

As I stare into those ruby red eyes,

I see no evil

For you are no evil,

What difference does it make between both you and me?

Forced into a box

Sentenced to be forever afraid of

Daughter of Phorcys

Beautiful to those who saw you,

Those ruby red eyes are your heart,

The heart you laid forth Poseidon,

Your heart was too strong

Crossed by Athena

What difference does it make between both you and me?

Medusa

Daughter of sea kings

But you lack to see what your eyes can do,

A strong woman.

With the fire burning in her eyes

But would you turn to stone if you saw yourself

To see who they let you become

Even in this world a strong woman is scary

The paint strong women like you

A freak of nature

Now you see there is no difference between you and me
