Medusa: My Eyes Are Down Here

I’m a loner and I like it

A common misconception is that

I just want to fit in

In all honesty,

high school is the worst

To someone like me,

kids are just cruel

That’s what I tell myself

They don’t bother me though,

the glances, whispers, and lies

I have no mental space for

sobs, tears, and sighs

My eyes are down here

Do they hate me,

or

do they hate my hair?

Snakes are all they see

but

I won’t chop them off

They’re a part of me
