Melancholy

Cold Distant from the world A solitary confinement to deception Nothing to feel, nothing to say Words trapped in the back of my throat Slowly suffocating its victim Hands shaking, heart breaking All just a dream turned into reality Can’t go back now Icy glares and empty faces Don’t fill the space that’s left behind Deliberate, tactless actions Leaves one in silent anguish That comes too soon in time I can’t ever face you again For recognition of each memory Makes me more despondent As the day turns to eternal night The breath of hope slowly fades away; Just wash away the pain Numb from being without feeling Turn back the hands of time Comprehension is inconceivable The dissonance resides with frustration The shadows are closing in Heartless corpse of disconsolation As my soul disintegrates From the inevitable truth That has yet again Come to deceive me…
