Melancholy

Her tear drops sang

Songs of melancholy

While the smell of lavender

Stung the backs of her eyes.

Her head screamed,

"Just do it,"

While her heart whispered,

"Stay,"

But her mouth could only mutter,

"I love you,"

But it had hints of goodbye

That she had been trying to hide

But she knew he could see

Through all of her lies.

Her tear drops sang

Songs of melancholy;

They fell upon the blade

That hummed that same, safe tune

It did long ago.

Me
