Melanin Queen

Dipped in Gold

Coated in melanin

Royalty runs through her blood

And deeply within

A mother during the day

A goddess at night

Only she knows

how to be a queen and still fight

She faces her battles with faith and hope

Teaching her kids to be strong-willed and never losing hope

She can't be defeated,

She has what it takes

to run a nation

And to be the light in a world full of darkness

An angel from Heaven, a blessing from God

My mother is a queen and strives to be the best she can be
