Mellow Child
Down into the tunnel of darkness,
Nothing to see as the water delivers me downward,
Until the appearance of small apertures,
Microscopic portholes emanating rays of the sun.
Stars passing me by as I reach the speed of light,
Escaping and scanning as the foundational wave is splashed.
Sliding headfirst on the sled of my headlong flight,
The moment when my angst and exhilaration clashed.
The flames lie so far beyond the mountains,
From this esplanade of a thousand fountains.
This is a contemporary fountain of youth,
Oh, how the waters know how to sooth.
This place is so wet and wild,
That it makes me feel like a mellow child.
On the water the sunshine accumulates into constellations afloat,
Configurations consisting of yellow dwarves.
Surrounding this castle is a moat,
Staying the course uninterested in the wharf.
Take the river to the sea,
And the river will take you to innocence.
Take the river to your destiny,
The start the orange sun has been shining since.
Don't forsake the river.
