Melodies From Heaven

(Made for the love of my life, my high school sweetheart Valerie.

Who has been there unconditionally for me, through every obstacle.)

By Kevin Vega

Just a little kid from the block

Thinking how am I gonna bring love my way?

I just wanna love someone the same way that Kanye loves Kanye

Then I saw this pretty girl in 8th Grade

Talking to her friends, I was like wait...

Only thing I had in my mind was how am I gonna bring her my way?

Man it's crazy, how that summer felt like a bummer until I texted her from the snap

I felt so nervous, my stomach kept hurting

I was so happy when she texted back

I thought to myself "Wow this happened fast, I'll finally meet her at last!"

And if you skip to today it's so crazy, because I was right about that

I'll meet her mom and her dad!

And our relationship kept getting better

I knew this was endless the moment I met her

I listened to Bruno, she became my treasure

And honestly calling her mine is a pleasure, is such an adventure

Running for love like I'm trying to lose calories

The girl that I will get rich with is Valerie

She is the only girl that really handles me

She keeps me going like Double D batteries

Even though I've gotten jealous

People want things to hit the net like Tennis

Girl you deserve every gem on a necklace

You always did love me, and when I need support you do come and hug me

And God really did make me lucky!

I got the moon and the stars, and our love is beating faster than a human heart

You are my Cartier, my pair of J's, my beautiful morning, my lazy days

My everything and one day I will get you that wedding ring

Floating from your finger mama, mama mia

Tell those boys that are waiting "Get out of here!"

Because they have no shot like a rookie yeah

I'm grateful for the route God took me yeah

We can go party like there's no tomorrow

There's no time for sorrow our love is not hollow

I promise you walk like a Givenchy model, and make me feel rich like I just won the lotto

So you want to be a cardiothoracic surgeon?

It makes sense why you wanna do that

Because you brought me back to life when I was hurting.
