melody

melody

1. writing has always been sunken into my skin, carved into the least parts of me. i think i knew it before the stars, before the sun and sky, but we are so intertwined that it is hard to say where they end and i begin.

2. i have seen you in the forest floor, in the way the leaves look just before sunset. in the startling awareness of life, in the music that seems to predate the earth. in the way you have always seen me, where no one else bothered to look.

3. we have been built of crescendos and cacophony, and we are made for more than one melody, but i know one truth in the reality i always thought was relative. i was made for you.

4. you, you, you and the sun stops. the music starts. its always been like this, i think, all of us, the birds and the trees and the sand and the stars and the sea, all humming, pulsing, beating, for you. you are the last note of my symphony, darling. the echo that never stops.
