The Melting of the Maze
Frozen words, never known
The winds have changed, the dawn has come
Times have past and the birds have flown
Yet, here I stay feeling numb.
The ice has melted, but there was no change
The ground’s still harsh, the wind’s still pain
The weary archer has left his range
As time is turning, the memories wane.
Despite this waning, the mist won’t clear
Cursed through the centuries, oblivion’s prior
Forever it stands, growing from fear
This search for one’s soul is far beyond dire.
In the distance, this maze will end
Light will flicker in the eyes of my kin
The trees will flower, the shadows will bend
Winter will melt so spring can step in.
Yet with this in mind, the darkness gets thicker
Every turn in this maze can bring back the light
My feet are flying but it needs to be quicker
For how long can I stay in this terrible night?
