Melting Snow

A look of disgust on her beautiful face struck me down in my place

I could feel the bottom shift left while I shifted right

Embarrassment slapped my cheeks and kick-started my heart

Frost covered my tongue and throat, unable to warm them with words

I held my breath all the way home until the snow finally melted within my skull

The icy water leaking from my eyes forming into snowflakes on my bedroom floor
