A Memoir of My Love

Your head was in my lap,

tendrils of your hair softly curled around my fingers.

You were peaceful and quiet,

and for that I love you.

You threw your arms in the air,

you wiped the sweat off your temple.

You were so into the music,

and because of that I love you.

In my darkest hour, you stayed by my side,

offering me company and understanding.

Because of that, I love you.

Those times we argued late at night,

you never yelled or threw words at me.

For that, I truly love you.

The times we drove around in your car,

the windows rolled down, our hands catching the wind

I realized more and more,

life's better with you in it.

Because you are crazy, passionate,

outgoing, levelheaded, fearless, and sweet.

I love you.
