Memories

I open my handcrafted eyes to see a dim light room Just a tiny ray of sun is streaming through the window on the door The air is stiff and still as if no one has entered for a while I can see that there is nothing like me here There are tools on the table, but they are caked with dust I look down and see my brightly decorated body Now faded since the time I was created There is no noise except the sound of my own thoughts I recall the day the creator made me He was so delighted to construct me He used to hum songs while he worked His brushstrokes were so delicate and precise I have to wonder what made him leave Never to come again He never seemed to be done with me He would try another color for my shoes Maybe set me in a different pose Or a different expression on my face Some days he would just sit back on his stool Admiring his work with a blissful smile on his lips Remembering theses memories Reminds me how lonely I am I hope he will come back But I can only sit on this shelf and wait
