memories

when you give your all to someone

what’s left for you?

oh, right, the destruction

a broken heart and a lonely soul.

spent most of my time trying

to fix what was never broken

and ended up breaking what mattered most

which was myself.

hours on end,

I ask myself what could I have done

to make you stay

but I guess it was nothing I could do.

you can fix a broken heart

but can never erase the memories

they stick with you like a bad dream

and you become

hopeless and helpless.
