Memories

Seeing you, brings back all the memories.

They flash before my eyes,

opening every stitch, cut or sore that you left behind.

I’m helpless, I’m stuck right under your thumb.

I can’t breathe, but you don’t mind.

You’ve moved on and left me far behind.

I’m just a familiar face to you,

a passing thought on your mind.

My skin is red as you look to me,

your eyes on my skin,

more intimate than any touch I’ve ever received.

My heart is sore from all the pounding,

my lungs are burnt from all the breathing,

my viens are a mess from all the rushing,

my skin’s on fire from your touching,

my mind is blank as you move toward me.

You smile, you greet me,

But I know I’m just a memory,

a distant one most likely.

But you were my world;

you smiled, the sun shined,

you cried, the sky rained,

you laughed, the wind blew,

you chuckled, the forest grew,

you left....the world  flew.

I guess in the end, I needed you

more than you ever knew.

I'm pursuing a degree in Occupational therapy. Once I finish my degree, I plan on moving to Ireland before traveling throughout Europe and hopefully parts of Asia.
