Memories

Ecclesiastes 9:5

5 For the living know that they will die, but the dead do not know anything;
they have no further reward—and even the memory of them disappears.

 memories

Pictures on my desk and more in my heart

Most of them unframed just captured in a smile

They are all together caught in a world far apart

To fill all my longing as I meditate for a while

Searching in my memory banks lost among the shelves

Where for goodness sake are the imprints for myself

Most areas are shaded and it is sure hard to tell

Where my-self is hidden and others appear so well

Nothing seems filed by age and lots just appear leathered

Is it a confusing mess only The Lord can sort this out?

Why is it so important as the past seems all weathered?

Is it for self-satisfaction or for reasons not to pout?

I let you know my inner-man if I could find the answer

I know you really want for me to find something good

I probably will disappoint you for sin is like a cancer

As only the negative I remember in search for daily food

Depravity seems to underline all the files I find

Strange in red are written the ones of no importance

It is just there to remind me that I am fully His

And that all is forgiven and I am in His Remembrance

Study your files once in a while to notice who you were

So you don’t get carried away and think you are any better

Than everyone you meet in church here or anywhere

So really the only good in you is to depend on the Latter …
