Memories

River so quiet

Water gliding peacefully

Up against the shore

My friends behind me

"Bet you'll be the first one in!"

"No way," I reply

We stand on the edge

Fifteen feet above the water

Hand in hand, waiting

Soon the pulls begin

Water won't be calm for long

Don't be last to drop

It's all for good fun

Eventually we'll all be in

Friends having good times

One by one we fall

Landing, splashing, and laughing

Water fresh and cool

Soon we are all in

Wet, splashing, and having fun

Friends just being friends

We are there all day

Climbing up and jumping in

Making memories

Even years later

I will remember this day

Memories that last
